The formal structure of the Federation was set up in early 2011, however after concerns around conflicts of interest the Federation was removed from CBC in 2012.  Over the past year or so we have come to think of ‘federation’ more as a way to work together rather than as a separate structure.  CBC is the vehicle by which Gateshead practices can be involved in delivering services and works to ensure that local services can be provided by local practices.  As time passes and more services are put out for procurement CBC will bid for these services and they will be delivered by a federated group of Gateshead practices.

 

We are about to go out to recruitment for an Administrator whose role will be to provide support to federated activity across Gateshead and also the South Tyneside Division of CBC.  This role will provide support to the ST Division around Board meetings, communications etc and in Gateshead will support practice managers by acting as a focus for federated activity and supporting areas such as practice managers’ meetings, training; buying group etc.
